On Sunday, Sept. 11, about 65 people gathered here at Immanuel to go out into the community and serve our neighbors. The group was made up of members of Immanuel, St. Paul’s Lutheran, Grace Lutheran, and St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church. It was a great day of sharing and working alongside our sisters and brothers not only from Lutheran congregations but also our Catholic sisters and brothers.

Work projects included picking up trash along the “el” tracks, tying quilts for Lutheran World Relief, making greeting cards for congregations to send to those who need to receive them, landscaping at Youth & Opportunity United (YOU), gardening at St. Nicholas, and bundling small toiletries to be distributed through Curt’s Café to young people struggling with homelessness or unemployment.

Thanks to all of you who helped!
