Immanuel has a long and proud tradition of providing beautiful, hand-made quilts to refugees and those in need in our community and around the world. Quilters meet monthly, morning and evening, to create works of love to provide warmth and shelter from 100% donated fabric. Lutheran World Relief provides the specification and the delivery.
The best part of our story is that as our church women have aged, died, or moved away, other women have joined us to continue the work. Half of our group now are not members of Immanuel. They are women who all are dedicated to serving. One comes from Reba Place in Evanston, Somebody told her that we accepted donations. We did and she stayed to become a valuable part of our group. One heard about us while playing bridge with a former member. One member moved to Wyoming but comes back to join us when she travels to see her son.
